Remember my Little Black Dress post I wrote about a few weeks ago? Well, as I mentioned there, my closet has a few of these babies hanging out just waiting for that perfect opportunity to shine.
Like this one:
A wise woman once said “”Black is poetic. How do you imagine a poet? In a bright yellow jacket? Probably not.” (Ann Demeulemeester)
Truthfully I believe that is what the Little Black Dress signifies: poetic simplicity. It eliminates the need to for loud jewelry or statement pieces, although its versatile enough to welcome them.
The little black dress serves as a reminder that simplicity is elegance. This particular one is a vintage dress with no identifiable designer; mere proof that a well designed piece of clothing can stand the test of time. I identify it as vintage because its got a LOT Number and Style Number (you don’t particularly find those on modern attire). I found THIS really great site that shows you how to identify vintage clothing, if you’re into that kinda thing like I am 😉
Oh and its got a petticoat slip which makes me instantly feel elegant. It’s also fun to swoosh in these.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have an elegant affair to catch and since this Uber is taking forever, I am moving on to other means:
A bientot and ta-ta my darlings!!!!
