Some of my favorite gifts to receive and gift are those that have a bit more meaning to them than simply being part of a wish list. I created his/hers/and tech friendly gift guides. However, I also wanted to give some ideas for a more budget-friendly heartfelt gift for those you love.

- A Journal. The ability to write down dreams, goals, aspirations, or even thoughts has a magical effect on the hearts of those who partake. Gifting someone a space to write these things definitely goes a long way. Here are some favorites:
- Chocolate. Chocolate has been proven to produce chemicals in the brain that can elevate your mood. Not only would you be gifting a delicious gift, you would be giving the gift of reducing stress. (especially with dark chocolate and high quality chocolate). There are two ways to gift this.
Make your own and arrange it in a cute Kraft or Tin box with wax paper and a special message. Or you can purchase a delicious set and add a personalized card. - Music. Music is the world’s universal language. It stirs memories and allows us to travel back to a specific moment. We can use it for distraction, recreation, or simply to drift into a different mood. You can gift music by giving someone a Spotify or Itunes Gift Card.
- Movies. Similar to music, movies can give our minds rest from our day to day in indulge in another world for a few hours. There’s so much in movies that can fill us with emotion: from the music, the era, the story, the characters. Gift your loved ones the ability to experience a new world through a gift card.
- Cozy. (pajamas, scarf) To this day, one of my favorite gifts is an inexpensive scarf my boyfriend got me because “it reminded him of me when he walked past it”. A beautifully hand crafted scarf or a soft throw blanket is a great way to gift someone the gift of being cozy.
- Tea. Help someone steep into a new world by gifting tea. They can visit England for breakfast with Earl Grey, taste a bit of China with Green tea, and be in India after dinner. World Market has one of the best tea assortments.
- Books. Speaking of traveling the world, books provide the greatest portal to new worlds: Words. “When you read a great book, you don’t escape from life, you plunge deeper into it.” Julian BarnesYou can gift someone the ability to pick their own portal to explore with a gift card. Although I will say, a personal favorite I love to read/gift over and over: The Alchemist.
- A Planner. With the new year being so close, giving someone the gift of planning their year in order to better reach goals (or not fail on those new year’s resoluations!). This beautiful planner by Anthropologie has wonderful quotes and cute gold stickies.
- Candles. Candles literally light up the life of any recipient in its environment. The flickering illumination and wonderful aromas that candles bring make any space in which they are in feel special.
On of my favorites is this Bergamot/Black tea candle. The fresh and citrusy aroma of bergamot, the famous signature ingredient in Earl Grey blend, intertwines with the rich fragrance of fine English black tea to keep you feeling at home on all your journeys.
- Champagne. “Champagne makes you feel like its Sunday and better days are just around the corner”-Marlene Dietrich. It’s a magic bubbly drink that can surely perk up anyone who indulges in it.
To give an extra special touch, wrap these in kraft paper, red twine, and home made bows. Bonus of you don’t know how and it looks a little sloppy, in my personal opinion (not everything must be pinterest worthy!)
