I recently had the pleasure of attending a performance by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at Moody Performance Hall.
Led by talented conductor, Ruth Reinhardt, the evening’s performance featured a ReMix series of Rossini’s Overture to The Barber of Seville, Berio & Schubert’s Rendering/Folk Songs, topped by my absolute favorite: Rossini’s Overture to William Tell.
Rossini’s Overture to William Tell may be a staple in classical music repertoire, but the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s live performance of it will definitely sweep you away to a different time and place. It’ no surprise that the DSO’s Mission Statement is:
“To Entertain, Inspire & Change Lives Through Musical Excellence.”
My date for the evening was fellow DFW blogger and influencer Jessica, who runs My Curly Adventures.
After the performance we were able to enjoy cocktails and mingle with the Orchestra’s musicians; where we ran into fellow bloggers, Including:
Tara(The Daquiri Diaries) and Becca (A Pretty Hot Mess)
Jessica and I had a lot of fun trying to recreate a performance of our own; clearly with poor but hilarious success.
…as well as sharing laughs and lovely conversations after the performance:
This is the first of what I believe will be many future visits to Moody Performance Hall.
If you’re looking for an fun evening of rich entertainment and wonderful music, be sure to check out the Dallas Symphony’s page for a list of upcoming concerts at Mydso.com
