Over the years, I’ve taken pride in keeping an independent style- one that is versatile and not placed in any box. My mood usually dictates who I express myself to the world as that day. Somedays I’m feeling loud, passionate, and bold. My go to color those days involves pops of red.
Some days however, I like to feel feminine, delicate and bubbly.
Those days, I will opt for pink:
Pink is genuinely an attitude. It’s playful, romantic, and tender; which can make it very difficult to deviate from it being “girly”. So in order to help you wear pink without looking too “girly” here are some tips:
1. Shady business: Shades of pink come a dime a dozen and depending on what message you’re trying to send, know what shade of pink is flattering to your skin as well as the outfit and setting. You don’t want to show up in a hot pink dress to your church or office parties, but perhaps hints of hot pink (a scarf and pink lipstick) can bring just the right amount of attention.
2. Patterns: The only think I can really say is-STEP AWAY FROM THE DOTS. Absolutely no polka dots ladies. Be careful with patterns. A very pale floral pattern tends to be safe. Patterns in moderation is good (with any color)- You don’t want to be the person that shows up with matching patterned shoes, pants shirts and purses. Which brings me to point number three.
3. Accessorize: If your outfit is pink (like mine is), accessorize in a different color. Or vice-versa: hints of pink in a scarf, clutch, or lip shade are always winners. They scream: I am girly… but i’m allllll woman so don’t try me. 😉
“I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and… I believe in miracles.”

I love pink! Seriously, just about any shade of pink! lol. I love neon-pink in my exercise outfits, soft – pastelish pink in dresses and blouses, and hot pink nails in summertime! This was a great post!
As I get older, my love of pink doesn’t fade, so finding ways to continue incorporating pink into my wardrobe without looking as if I’m 10 can be a challenge sometimes. Thanks for the tips!
