Steal the Style Style

DIY Costume Series: The Flamenco/Spanish Woman

Welcome y Bienvenidos!!! This is outfit numero 3 of my DIY costume series; so if this is your first time here, you’ve got two previous posts to catch up on!
Okay so for outfit number 3 I decided to move away from the retro era and dug into my Spanish roots, So I give you: The Flamenco/Spanish Woman:

Here is what you need: (Another Pinterest find! Pinterest is your best friend when it comes to DIY!)

DIY: Flamenco Dancer Costume

Dress: While typically this looks does require a longer dress that has more frills at the bottom, I figured keeping it short makes it more “everyday” friendly. So I opted for this black off the shoulder style dress I found in the vintage section of a thrift store:

Hair: You hair should be worn on the side with a red flower.
Miss A has an entire section of Hair flowers.. and they are all $1. So you can get your flower power on for one dollar! Here is the link.
While you’re at it, go ahead and shop for your earrings/choker here as well.
Make up: I like the red to stand out, so I kept the make up mostly neutral with a burst of red lip. I used Colourpop’s Saigon Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick-$6

Shoes: While a true flamenco dancer will wear heels with a sturdy wooden heel, since this is a costume, I went with Strap on Kitten Heels. The heels shouldn’t be taller than 2-3 inches.

This completes my list of DIY tips for look number 3! I hope these tips helped inspire your own Spanish roots, if not you can go back to a more retro look, or hold out for what else I have in store for you….

Till later my dear!
